  Slim nd Cofty are both right.....

  i haven't had anything to contribute for a while so i have been lurking, which is a pleasant pastime.. anyway i have really enjoyd slimboyfats way of thinking, and i don't think such thinking needs discharge from the mental asylum.

  i guess i am out of ammunition to argue with coftys may i say more rational thinking.. so whilst i find it difficult to refute what cofty says, i also find slimboyfats thinking refreshing, and that's why i say they are both right.

  maybe a better explanation would be i once worshipped an organisation which was referred to as " mother" and it wrapped me up in baby diapers.. as far as i am concerned both slim and cofty are independent thinkers, no longer controlled by the insane thinking and rhetoric of other people.

  As far as I am concerned both Slim and Cofty are independent thinkers, no longer controlled by the insane thinking and rhetoric of other people.

  As for myself I don't want to be proudly right, and I don't want to hammer away with my machine gun,. I have however simply enjoyed being fed food and fuel to think by sincere posters who have different points of view.

  The girl I loved and married didn't have beautiful blue eyes, nor did she look like my mother but she had her own kind of beauty and her own kind of thoughts, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My best friend is a doctor who does abortions, which I find disgusting and ....my point is I think thinkers like Slim and Cofty are only free to think because they are independent thinkers.

  Free is always to cheap my father used to say, and he was correct, except I think for the gift of free thinking.

  i believe that if i am to believe " man is a creature of god" i am putting my trust in the wisdom of past ages.

  i also believe many political leaders, pretend to believe in this acient wisdom because they reason the public will be more tolerant of there acts of aggression if it is believed they are acting with a higher powers approval.. anyway i have concluded that:- .

  when acts of aggression are carried out by our governments people still like to believe our leaders have a higher authority's approval.. do you think my observation:.

  I find it incomprehensible that our current Prime Mnister can make these type of statements:-

  "Just as our language and culture is steeped in the bible, so to is our politics for human rights....." David Cameron.

  Personally I have concluded that Thathcher, Blair, Brown, and Cameron are sincere when they talk about there beliefs. My question is therefore where has this faith come from?

  I wonder if Public school has anything to do with it?

  The fact is that Thatcher, Blair, Brown and Cameron have all done God in their political rhetoric. In fact I was surprised when David Cameron our current prime minister, recently even drew on the bible for such justification.

  So since Thatcher, Brittish prime ministers have sort to promote themselfs as Christian, and justify a closer relationship between politics and religion.

  Is this because our Prime Ministers :-

  A) Think the Brittish public like to believe they make important decisions with the approval of a higher authority?

  or

  B) They generally believe in a higher authority.

  Personally I found it very scary when our current Prime Minister, recently drew on the bible to justify his relationship between politics,his faith and religion.

  I also take on board " Coftys" point "nicolaou" but it is also worth researching that since Margaret Thatcher, Brittish Prime Ministers have increasingly started using religious language in their political rhetoric to justify their policies.

  Our current Prime Minister, David Cameron, recently described Britain as a "Christian country" , and spoke about his personal beliefs " Jesus invented the big society 2000 years ago"

  The greatest movies ever made.......

  and they were amazing, 8 years of my boy growing up captured on a few films i once made.. the past is of course not the only thing to look forward to, but as i watch these movies i see so many acts of love and so many perfect times that i had forgotten.. so my question is do you have " the greatest ( photos) or movies in your collection" that you may have neglected?

  In that case Cofty, I now feel confident I can proclaim myself on this forum as " the worlds greatest lover" in the knowledge that my comment is so egregious nobody will be bothered to refute it.

  The Rebel (A) ..........I think the " BOLLOCKS" comments are brilliant, I would even go so far to say.......funny.

  Cofty is a brilliant poster, and whilst I don't always ( in fact rarely) agree with what he says, I think his use of the phrase " Bollocks" is often used without exaggeration, and entirely justified.....however the O.P of this thread was really about why everybody gets so offended about nothing these days?

  A) I believe religion, advertising, marketing, and a persons ego is " BOLLOCKS" . Yet to say a person can live with out " BOLLOCKS" is noncence, or should I say ." BOLLOCKS" ....this is what unites the athiest and believer....the evolution of what we once believed will I believe someday become " BOLLOCKS" ...

  Je.Suis...thank you for your comment...in Coftys defence, I took the " Bollocks" comment as tongue in cheek.....my point was we have issues on this board about if God exists or if God does not exist....we have issues about abortion, ....we have issues about guns.....we have issues about ect, ect, ect, and I say it's all BOLLOCKS, because what matters is we are all escapees from the WATCHTOWER."
